It may have taken awhile…
Saturday, March 24th, 2007Hey guys. No, no I am not dead; this second semester just is a lot harder than the first. It is my plan — NO! It is my DUTY to update on my regular monday schedule! And with that I say: PREPARE FOR COMICS!!!! HOOAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
New Frosty Village, it’s called “Upload then Finish?”.
A new plot line is to start up next week! Hope you guys enjoy!
Also, don’t forget to go check out my portfolio, there is some cool stuff there. And while you are at it, look at Frosty Mini, it’s been updating every so often.
The State of the Penguin…
Friday, March 16th, 2007…is at rest. Red may be missing his flight home due to a vicious snowstorm (irony of ironies for us flightless birds, eh?) — meanwhile I’m living it up on Spring Break, doing the thing I know best: Lounging.
Taken from the Flintlocked project and revealed through Stereotypical. Won’t you give her a listen?
EDIT: I just heard that Red’s flight might be delayed until Sunday night O_O
I hope I’ll be seeing him sooner…
Can’t Touch This
Saturday, February 17th, 2007My friends at school associate with a multitude of groups, some of which sub-cavort with other, tinier units. One of these associations is “The Base,” the members of which have written a little ditty which I chose to compose backing for. It didn’t really have a name until now, but since this instrumental which I present to you is a pared down composite of the “real deal,” I’ve decided to call it A Touch of B.A.S.E. Why? I guess I’m just feeling clever.
I’m an artiste.
Saturday, February 10th, 2007The proof is in this week’s belated pudding: not one, but two! Well, more like one of each. Two puddings. Let me explain!!!
antiART: Out of Season.
Stereotypical: Raggedy Anne.
Actions speak louder than words.
EDIT: Well it might be informative if I said a little something about each item, so… this week’s antiART is a tree outside of my living space that seems to be trapped between Fall and Winter, in spite of the presence of snow. The Stereotypical song is a little ditty I started practically the day I arrived at school last semester; at midnight. It’s written in the spirit of some daft woman living near the docks, mourning for her lost sailor husband. Some turn-of-the-century pap. It’s a bit of a landmark because it marks the first time I’ve used real instrument – in this instance a melodica. The tune’s a bit experimental but kind of dark/fun nonetheless. How I can possibly reconcile that is a mystery even to me.
Onions on my belt…
Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007So Penguinbros.com apparently is the tired old grandpa that you have to keep waking up with various poking implements. Seems we have a little ‘ol thread on The Igloo (our webforum) entitled Complain about the lack of updates on PB in this topic! Well, it looks like it worked!
I have two new antiART pieces to share with you, for you. The first is a borderline defensive that I like to call Glory, because heaven knows we don’t have enough of that. The second is a – dare I say it – Daydream believer. Look to up the skies from down in the dirt; It’ll do wonders.
ATTN: ALL PEOPLES
Friday, January 12th, 2007Penguinbros.com had several hours of downtime this morning. The “home” directory is no more: please update your bookmarks. That is all.
75 Frosty Villages
Tuesday, January 9th, 2007Here’s the new weekly Frosty Village: “How do you like them Apples?“. If you noticed something is weird, it’s because the strip was not hand drawn. It is 100% digital. I don’t know if I want to get better at this, or if I should stick to hand drawn. I’ll think about it before I get into the next plot. If you read the comic from strip one, I started drawing it because I could do it completely digital with my tablet. Oh well, we’ll see what happens. Happy 75th comic!
2007 is the year of Penguinbros.com
Sunday, January 7th, 2007You heard it here first… but hardly for the final time! There has been a flurry of activity down at PB-HQ (that’s Penguin Bros Headquarters to you) over the last several days. Lots of planning and preparation, but also content for the here-and-now. There’s a lot to be looking forward to – before anything else can be said on that subject let us turn to some features of the site that have gone untouched for too long.
I’m talking about the navigation bar at the top of the page. For too long the Shop has gone, well, un-shoppable. Beginning soon (in the next two weeks) you will begin to see products available for sale. What kind of products you ask? Sources tell me it’s things you can wear, and things you can read. Exciting, yes?
Secondly is the Projects page. If you go there now you will see a rough list of graphical links to mysterious parts of the site. It’s a little rudimentary right now, but just know I’m furiously working to beautify it as we speak. The links there go to parts of the website we don’t update frequently. That doesn’t mean they aren’t worth your time however.
To close, a Penguinbros Gallery Update. You will be scoping the latest two entries by name: Andy Runton and Rogerio Romano. Respectively.
Happy Belated New Year!
Thursday, January 4th, 2007Hey! Sorry for the long hiatus. Finals were super time consuming, and then I had to travel back to Frosty Village from Igloo City. Getting everything unpacked, and seeing some friends took longer than I thought. But here it is, the conclusion to this epic chapter of Frosty Village; it’s called “Did Anything Really Change?“. Oh, and because I didn’t forget:
